Search across 25 medical traditions
Type a condition, symptom, remedy or ingredient under 1. What would you like to explore?, or pick one of the examples there. Every search consults all 25 registered traditions unless you choose one under Search in, and this page lays out what the traditions of historical medicine said about it, with the best-supported options first.
- Traditions side by side. Each plan is drawn from named historical texts, and every step cites the page, entry or hadith it comes from.
- Ranked by modern evidence, honestly. Plans are ordered by what clinical research has found. Most traditional remedies have never been tested, and the sheet says historical use only rather than pretending.
- Yours to keep. Print or save the whole sheet as a PDF, share a plan, and see what to buy for each step.
Educational, not medical advice. Warning signs always point to a doctor first.

Each tradition's page: where and when it was practised, its texts and figures, what Consult holds from it, how much of that modern study has tested, and its safety notes.Ailments by body system
Every condition in the database, grouped the way the old dispensatories grouped them. Pick one to open a consultation.
The texts behind the advice
Each suggestion in a plan carries a citation. Extracted citations were read from the online text in this build and carry a short quotation; reference citations point to a chapter or entry of a text that could not be fetched and were written from knowledge of that text — treat them as pointers to check, not proof.
World Medicine Archive
A source registry across the documented medical traditions below: what the texts are, who wrote or compiled them, and where to read them yourself. This is reference material, not a consultation: it is not ranked by evidence and carries no dosing. It is also where Consult's plans come from, since plans written for the sixteen traditions added through this archive are drawn only from sources registered here, while the texts cited by every plan, for all 25, are listed on the Sources page. Each tradition's card says whether Consult already carries plans from it, and its page links them.
